What happens if there are insufficient funds to process a Shopify Collective refund?
Collective keeps retrying to collect funds for a retailer refund until it succeeds. Insufficient funds can happen when customers pay through alternative methods like PayPal, when payouts are very frequent, or after a spike in refunds following a payout. Using Shopify Payments as your sole checkout method, setting a weekly or monthly payout schedule, and minimizing refunds and chargebacks all help avoid this.
