"Desert Mirage evokes the shimmering heat waves that rise above the earth during the hottest days of summer. It is an ideal quilt for your first attempt at curves, as it features large, gently curving blocks with lots of trimming room. I especially like this quilt in linen or woven cotton fabrics to provide some texture that complements the minimal design, and used Kaufman Essex Linen Blend for the throw size version of this quilt. This pattern provides a primer opportunity for hand quilting with a small number of seams and plenty of negative space to let your quilting shine."
