Design inspo: On a trip to Hawaii some time ago, I learned about the amazing navigational skills of the Micronesian explorers. With no compass or sextants, these brave explorers used an arrangement of sticks, shells, pieces of stone or coral to map ocean swells, currents & atolls as they made their way over 70 million square miles of sea. I thought to recreate some of these patterns using my applique techniques & materials...here with trim & beads for a modern take on these ancient tools.

About Mazizmuse

Founding Partner

Est. 2010 in Burnaby, British Columbia.

Mazizmuse designs and creates unique decorative pillows primarily for outdoor spaces, using applique, trimwork and other fabric manipulation.

When the recession of 2008 hit, many of us in the Interior Design industry were laid off With over 15 years of working in the textile industry (and stock piling ALOT of fabric) I set about getting creative in the sewing room. After making several pillows for friends, it was suggested I sell them on a new platform called ETSY. Nate Berkus and his team found my work and featured it on his show.
