Our Canada 1867 design reflects two aspects about Canada and Canadians: It is a way to tell the world (particularly our American friends) that we honour our Canadian values and the happiness our country brings us. It also serves as a reminder that we have been a free and sovereign country since 1867, with no intent to change that. As always, our clothing is knit, dyed, cut, sewn, printed and designed all in Canada.

So you love your Happiness Is…purchase but you got the size wrong or colour. Or perhaps we made a mistake (yikes!). No worries. Any item (except custom orders or those marked as part of our last call sale) that is unused and in the same condition as you received it, you can return or exchange by mail within 30 days of your order date. Orders placed between October 1 and December 25 are eligible for return through January 25 of the following year. We will even take on the shipping costs to return to our warehouse, using our prepaid labels. If you don't see the size you need in stock for an exchange, we will be restocking non-sale items in mid January and will ship as soon as we have it ready..

At the age of 95 (not a typo!), with wisdom, reflection and passion, Gordon Carton founded Happiness Is Inc., as a way to inspire us to find our happiness within. He knew it's impossible to have a lifetime of happiness, but the gratitude we can have for what makes us smile, and the connections we share with the people around us, the happier we become. And happiness is contagious.

Gordon passed away in 2017, but his legacy lives on with his granddaughter, founding partner and Happiness Is Inc. Chief Happiness Officer Andrea Armstrong. Leading a small group of women working to do the right thing, the Happiness Is Inc. team is dedicated to making high quality casual clothing that makes you feel happy about your purchase. Live it.
